Alright I was just wondering a few things about the end of the season/sectionals:

Should you decrease your long run? I'm getting about 45 miles a week right now and usually put in 10-11 on Sunday.

What should I drop the mileage to to make me feel nice and fresh in the races?

Most importantly, we have pretty much trained through our entire season. We do two speed sessions/long rep track work a week, as well as a meet and a tempo. Is doing 2 workouts the same week as a meet considered training through? They are pretty tough workouts.

Also, one more thing:
I have a big meet this Friday, and I am a little unsure about how to take this week. I realize nothing I do this week will help the meet, so I wanted to take it fairly easy and just feel REALLY relaxed and have fresh legs for the meet. However, my coach has this planned: (have already done mon and tues workouts):

mon- 1xmile (5:10), 3x600 (1:44-46), 3x300 (47-48), 3x280
tues- 5 easy (7:03 pace), 1x(300,200,150,100) strides
wed- some kind of fast speed workout, (8x400, 4x200) or something
thurs- easy day, 3-4 miles, strides
fri- RACE

is this too much for a big race?

"training through" usually means doing normal workouts a day or two before the meets. I would imagine that you aren't peaking for this race, so it's not bad. Chances are you're going through the last week(s) of your "hard" phase of your training, so this is pretty normal. You might want to turn down the mileage of your weekend LSD to about 7-8. I'd say your coach is right on, but if he's not running less a week or two from now, you should be questioning his methods.

Also, you might want to ask your coach to replace a speed workout with an 800 interval session(@3200 race pace)
