We have nothing going on here in Cali.Although the next big election next year will be another ''referendum'' vote on the official legalization of marijuana.A disaster waiting to happen.

Actually, California's 10th district does have one of the only federal elections this year, since their representative went off to the executive branch. Should be a pretty comfortable hold for the Democrats, so no one really cares all that much.

Pssst. There's an election in NY's 23rd district, and it looks like the Tea Party candidate is going to win.... but don't tell anyone. It doesn't mean anything. There's no history being made here, so just move along.

Unfortunately I picked the wrong one. It looks pretty ugly down here in Virginia, while New Jersey is too close to call. Not that I'm surprised or anything; Deeds has proven to be a pathetic candidate.

Great perspective from my grandad (a lifelong Republican): He's voting for McDonnell (the Republican) reluctantly, but really hates that McDonnell hasn't manned up and said that we need to raise some taxes. Which we do, because the transportation situation in Virginia is a holy mess and no one has figured out how to get money to deal with it yet. My response was that Deeds was too wimpy to follow through on that either, so he might as well just vote for the Republican.

When I grow up I want to live somewhere with candidates that actually represent my views. Like maybe Sweden or something.

This is the philosophy that is going to crush the Democrats and liberalism in the next election. Why would I want to subsidize anything like that anyways.

Anyway, although I certainly voted today (on the way back from a run, no less!), I left one race blank for the first time. Our sheriff is running unopposed, but I refuse to vote for him since he's kind of stupid and I have not yet figured out why we need a sheriff in the first place (in Virginia, the main role of the sheriff is to run the jail, and we don't have a jail). And writing in someone would be silly.
