I had no idea that the truth, succinctly expressed, induced nausea in you.
On that subject, anybody care to wager on this weekends Sunflower Showdown? Jaycat? KevinM? ChrisR? Anyone? Buhler? Anyone?
Straight up or down, win or lose. No points. Have to decide what the appropriate wager would be.
Any takers?

I'd bet something on KU, but to be honest it feels like another crummy big 12 north game. I guess Bill Snyder has proved he's a better coach than Ron Price at this point but even if KSU wins the North, does that really mean they "are back"? Missouri has been a disaster, Nebraska has no offense and Iowa State and Colorado are also in contention.
KU has been disappointing to the point that the season goals are now to beat KSU and Missouri (and take an outside shot at the North title). The game is on Versus if that tells you anything.
What I'd rather hear is what everyone thinks of the the Big 12 XC results. Is this progress at KU? What about the KSU men?

Gotta decide what we're betting. Any suggestions?
How about loser has to wear the other schools sweatshirt for a day, and post a picture of them wearing it?

Agreed, only I'd prefer an Aggieville t-shirt.

KU-KSU "wagers"
One of my K-State brothers-in-law used to always bet a BBQ meal with me on the game, but I insisted we had to have a reciprocal deal on basketball games. He stopped betting me when we won the National Championship in '88.
Since we beat KSU soundly in Michigan to go to the Final Four, he got to buy me my lunch and then drop me and my wife off at Kemper so we could go to the game! It's been 21 years and I still savor that moment. Go on all you like about Snyder and K-State football. I've still got a on my face.

Zat, I'll go straight up and the bet can be a case of Gates BBQ sauce for a case of Indian River oranges.

Deal. A K-State win and I'll be looking for my oranges. A KU win gets you a case of Gates.
Anybody else?
My favorite bourbon is Russell's Reserve. Anybody want to bet a bottle of Russell's Reserve bourbon?

How can you really say Mizzou has been a disaster? We were projected to go about 8-4 or 7-5 which is still pretty likely. A decent rebuilding year...nothing spectacular, but expectations weren't that high. I wish we weren't playing at the same time as kU-KSU, because I'd like to watch that game. I haven't seen K-State play yet this year, so I have idea how much of a threat they are.

BTW, tell Kaitie Vanatta, the daughter of my old teammates at K-State (Mike & Chris Vanatta; well, actually Mike as a post-collegian at that point), that I said congrats on her Big 12 race (all-conference as a frosh).
Ask her to show you the pictures of my Steve Prefontaine letter that she took at my house a few years ago if she has them with her. Last time I saw her was last New Year's Eve.

Probably fair. Still, 1-3 in the big 12 with narrow wins over Bowling Green and Nevada doesn't scream success.
