Willie Ahearn

He was great in high school and had at least one good race in college (that I saw for indoor). I read an article on Flotrack about Levi Miller and he mentioned Willie Ahearn was taking the semester off.

Does anyone know why?

Rumor has it he's taking a semester off just to get fast enough to get into an ivy? Can anybody confirm this? Kid was a baller in HS (and still is). The Danbury Dream Invite 2 mile against Cabral was one for the ages.

if a sub 9 minute full two mile in HS isnt fast enough to get into an ivy then idk what the world is coming to.

I heard he's going to transfer to Columbia. Can't fully confirm it though, but sure one of the Danbury guys can.

He (Ahearn) definitely was looking at Columbia at some point last year. At that point the story trails off...my source @ Columbia really had no idea aside from a initial rumor
