Maybe so about USC, but Oregon State finished ahead of Stanford last year and should be better this year (lost 1 key player, gained 3 talented players) while Stanford should be worse (lost their 3 best players, gained 1 decent player).
EDIT: By the way, looks like UW went went 2 posts (MBA and Gant) and Pondexter on the wing. Suggs and Gaddy both getting starter minutes.

Xavier held Rollins (FL DIII) to 19 points in the second half to make a 14 point lead turn into a 86-47 win.
Jordan Crawford is the real deal.

They are a top 10 team if the new guy can coach a lick. Dayton is already top 10-15. The A10 is looking mighty strong up top.

Pastner's debut as head coach went as well as it could. A bunch of new guys trying to gel out there, so we had a slow start. Had a 10 point lead by half, and just showed off in the second half. We had 4 walk-ons on the floor to close out the last 5 minutes. Elliott Williams is the real deal. He did what he wanted to all night. Memphis, when they figure each other out better, will be another tournament team, I think. Regardless, we have two, maybe three, more scholarships for next season. Pastner is a great recruiter. If he has a year where he gets at patched up team to the tournament, he will be considered a legit coach and should dominate recruiting after that.
Which leads me to.....
So, FC, have you seen Rivals team recruiting rankings for next season's class? We are about to get two more to players as well.

Yup, Duke will miss Elliot dearly. They brought in Andre Dawkins but im not sure he will bring out the same defensive intensity that Williams did. I was really looking forward to watching him this season. O well...

I already knew he was good from his H.S. days here, but he's bigger and much stronger now. Very similar to Tyreke Evans EXCEPT he has a silky smooth shot. He made 3 point bombs, and would take two people off the dribble, split them, and dunk over the center. He did it all, including dishing the ball very well. He could have gotten 10 - 15 more points, but he started dishing the ball to everyone just to get them all involved. He was good at that too.
And Chief, Memphis is #2 in the 2010 class rankings. And we are not done yet. Three more scholarships to fill. Bottom line: if Williams stays, and he already said he was going to be a 4 year player at Duke (so I'm sure he would do the same for Memphis), combined with Barton and Jackson Who is going to hold those three down? All you need is a couple of big dudes to rebound and play interior defense, the other three would give you 70-80 points per game.

Yeah? When's the last time a team had 3 guys averaging 26 PPG?

That could be their average. I'm sure all three would not be going for 40 a night or anything, but all three are prolific scorers. They would be taking most of the shots. It's not that far fetched.

LOL! Nice debut Isiah

If Duke gets Harrison Barnes then they will have the number 1 recruiting class in 2010....

That's only if Memphis does not get Black, Kendrick, and this African Juco player (Tsafack sp?) who has everyone after him.
Tarik Black is from Memphis, and is one of those players who is ranked as a 4 star, right now, but will probably be a 5 star before the year is over. He dominated AAU this summer, which is why he is ranked now. Jelan Kendrick is a top 10 player and we are not holding our breath, even though he said he liked what he saw in Memphis, but if he does..... Then there is Tsafack who Pastner has made a priority. I trust Pastner's judgement there.
If all went well, that would give you three 5 stars, three 4 stars, a 3 star, and a top juco player. Hard to top that.
But if those all fall through, and Duke gets Barnes, then yeah, they will be #1.

It's amazing how fast USC &Stanford fell in less than a year.Due mostly to the pro leagues and scandal for USC.Stanford I guess did'nt get smartest blue chip players to replace the ones they lost.
