Profit, I don't understand why you think a team can't win state and a national title. Wouldn't you think that if a team is good enough to win the national title, it would also win its own state title? Why not focus on state, because at most schools I would think this is what you would be most remembered for, and then move on to the national scene once it is done. You make it sound like you can only focus on one or the other.

Nah man you totally misunderstood me. I said if you had to choose between a state title or national title which one would you pick. York got beat at state last year and almost won the national title for instance, yeah that would be rare if someone didn't win state and then win the national title but still more just a hypothetical choice.

Concentrate on both. Actually I think the eligibility requirements may be tougher for Nike than the Ihsaa. I think their age limit is more strict isn't it. WE just can't be 20 on our state meet, i think they are around 19.5. Yeah it does cost some money to go but NIke has a lot of regionals, it probably isn't much more expensive than a state meet if your team spends the night for that, just more time in the car and more gas money for teams. Plus I think a school should fund a team with a actual shot or the team could do a fundraiser but I don't think money is usually the issue for the better teams attending.
