a few unexpected surprises in this past weeks conference races. thoughts on the regionals? i think we can all agree nau, colorado will be a battle up front and both teams will go. can byu take revenge on the lobos? both nm and byu look like they will qualify. what 4 individuals go out of the region and what will be the end make up of the utah battle in xc? as well as the region?

We should just make this into a Top-10 Prediction Thread for regionals. I'll have to think about mine, but feel free to put em up. I'll +rep anyone who guesses better than the crappy regional rankings.

Teams:

1. CU (because they never lose, except once, to us)
2. NAU (Don't know if they'll even run everyone)
3. BYU (Assuming they're pretty mad - or at least Eyestone is)
4. New Mexico (complacent? and very very inconsistent)
5. UTEP (ran well at CUSA's)
6. USU (too deep to get 7th)
7. Air Force (ran badly at Mtn West's)
8. Montana State (have a front man, need their 4-5 to step it up if they want 8th)
9. SUU (This is assuming we run like we have all year w/ half the team on, half off)
10. Montana (showed up at Big Sky's)

Individuals: (just realized how stacked the region is individually)

1. David McNeill - NAU (if he runs)
2. Jordan Chipangama - NAU (if he runs)
3. Jacob Kirwa - New Mexico (been running solid all year)
4. Diego Estrada - NAU (great run at pre-nats, rested Big Sky's)
5. Miles Batty - BYU (been there all year)
6. Kenyon Neuman - CU (finally showed up at BIG XII's)
7. Cam Levins - SUU (Pre Nats went like McNeill's)
8. Nicodemus Ng'etich - UTEP (Always there, veteran)
9. Christian Thompson - CU (ran well at Pre Nats)
10. Richard Medina - CU (ran well at Pre Nats)

Qualifiers:

Justin Tyner - Air Force (Could be higher but for now I'm thinking around 11)
Elkana Rotich - UTEP (Should be low teens, maybe 12th or even top 10, who knows. Freshman and at altitude coming off big run at CUSA's)

Honorable Mentions:

Chris Barnicle - NM (finally showed up at Mtn West's)
BYU's pack - (if they could run 20 guys they would be unbeatable but their 2-8 never are the same, lets see if Gruenewald reappears)
NM's guys - (who knows why Rory Fraser isn't consistently top 10)
Brian McKenna - USU (could be an at-large guy, been solid all year)
Nick Atwood - Montana St (running well, on the cusp. Possible at-large guy)
Daniel Howell - USU (he'll be right on McKenna)
Air Force guys?? - Ran at Pre nats but what about Mtn West's?
