with 3-4 games left in the season every team in the North still has a chance to win it. there are 3 key games int he next 2 weeks that will probably decide the North:
nov. 7 KU at K-state. If KU loses they are basically out of contention to win the north.

Nov. 14 Mizzou at K-state. If Kstate beats KU and wins this, then they are sitting pretty. If KU beats K-state, the wildcats could still possibly win the north or play spoiler to Mizzou.

Nov. 14- Nebraska at KU. Nebraska desperatly needs to win this game since they will lose to OU on Nov. 7th. KU could play spoiler.

I could see a scenario in which the ku vs mu and nebraska vs colorado games in the final weekend would decide the conference champion.

5-3 will probably win the north. The winner will get the right to be dismantled by Texas in the big 12 title game.

While that certainly seems the case, the history of that game proves otherwise. I forget the exact figures, but the first four or so times a team was favored by two touchdowns or more (or was it one, I can't remember; anyway they were heavily favored) going in to that game, the favorite got upset in the Big 12 title game.

The history of the Big 12 title game is one of huge upsets. Remember when the undefeated "Greatest Team in College Football History" got trounced 35-7 in the 2003 title game? No? You are right Zat about upsets. This year though has the feel of that game in 2005 in which Texas "squeaked" by Colorado 70-3. In fact the last 5 favored teams have won it. The last time the game was closer than 14 points was in 2001 when Colorado beat Texas 39-37.

That said if Texas is still unbeaten then all the pressure will be on them.

I was there (I've been to all the Big 12 title games K-State has played in). I knew we were in deep weeds way before the end.

UCLA was on the road at Miami. If UCLA knocked off Miami (which seemed highly unlikely at the time), we'd play for the national title if we beat A&M.

Well, about half way through the game, they flashed the score on the screen in St. Louis. UCLA had done it. Everyone went nuts. I looked down and players were high-fiving on the sidelines like they'd already won. I thought to myself, "Oh, crap. I wish they hadn't shown that score."

We lost focus from that point on and it was game over.

FWIW, I just checked and the line is KU by 3. Over/under is 57.5.

You could tell early in the year that this Kansas team was something of a fraud. The defense is a little better than last year but the offensive line is pathetic. Sadly there are those who will call Todd Reesing the greatest quarterback in K.U. history. Numerically that may be the case, but he is the product of a system. Give me David Jaynes or John Hadl, they were great quarterbacks.

About the O-Line very young group back run blocking but overall I think they have played very well this year. The pass blocking is really good but most of the sacks are on Todd. You can only protected the QB for so long. Reesing holds onto the ball way to long and I don't get why he never throws it away.

This team is so sad to watch because there is no excitement out there. I think everyone has already written the season off and can't wait for it to end. They look so lazy and careless out there. I was definitely expecting at least an 8-4 season with this team with hopes of 9-3 but looks like we wont win another game this year.

People say Todd has done so much for the program and yes he has but he alone is quickly taking us back to where we were before.

In all fairness, the Reesing of the last few weeks is very different from what he has done over his career. Whether it is an issue of confidence, the groin injury, etc, he does not look like the same guy. The kids represents a lot of what is right about college sports, great student, tough competitor and all about the team. Even he knows that the NFL isn't calling but to judge him based solely on the last few weeks is patently unfair.
