First day back running after being out for 3 days with suspected H1N1. 3 in 22:54. Just felt a little weird. I've still got some gunk in my chest to work out and my legs felt like I've been on a couch for 3 straight days.

750 yards in the pool

15 minute run - For the most part pain free. I haven't been able to train regularly over the last 10 weeks because of shin splints and tendinitis. Now I just have tendinitis to the right of the kneecap, I made the decision that I'm going to run through the pain because that's the only thing left to do.

Today- FAIL.

Coach told me to do as much of the workout as I could. This is my 9th day of being sick. I've had the cold since last wednesday. At this point it has moved to my chest and I've been coughing up stuff all day. But I've had the cold many times and ran perfectly fine. I don't know what is wrong, this thing has destroyed me I haven't felt good running since last tuesday. Legs were completely drained a quarter of the way into the workout and I was pulled out after I fell 17 seconds behind the guys on our team.

SUPPOSED to be 1600-2k tempo-400-2k tempo-800-2k tempo-1200
With the track work at 4:30mi pace or faster and the 2k loop w/2hills in 6:20-6:25

4:32- 6:28- 64- 6:34- 2:24 DEAD and finished.

5 x 800 - 227, 224, 222, 220, 218

Felt smooth, labored on the last one but it's to be expected. Going to take my sweet time getting into form, after my bone scan comes back that is

try to keep your chin up!

my PR this year (which was early in the season before i hurt myself) came only a week or so after getting over the swine flu...during which i missed 3 workouts and essentially was shuffling 70 mpw. Even when I came back, I was only doing the minimal amount suggested for the workouts. i still PR'ed! You've got a week, you'll be ok. Just don't stress over whether or not you had good workouts, you know you're in shape as soon as you kick this bug or w/e it is
