Shepard's data isn't online, to my knowledge. You gotta buy his little booklet.

T&F News notoriously unreliable as a source? Did I read that right?

T&F News is as reliable as it gets.

Jack is actually the senior editor for high school men for T&FN, BTW. The high school lists that appear there are his.

Exactly.

By the way, Jack just finished up his research on the past year and his 2010 HS Track Annual went to press yesterday. Might be available for purchase in a few weeks, before indoor season arrives.

The man's records/data is AMAZING!

If its a National High School Federation record it has to be done in a sanctioned HS meet. For the one that track & field news does it can be in an open meet and the date etends past graduation a little. There are also other records where the rules change as well.
I'm sure this guy has been waiting anxiously for 4 months for someone to give him a definitive answer.

Yes, you read it right.

The editor of T&FN has readily admitted, on the forum, that the "Records" and (especially) the "Lists" accessible on their web site are sometimes badly out of date.

This doesn't apply to the magazine's contents, of course.

The current year's list is the one they seem to keep up the best each year - but not always the all-time or records
