The sun appeared at about 9:00, breaking through the early morning overcast. So the D2 and D3 girls races were run without any sun; the D1 girls race was run in the sun.
Did it make the later morning races more difficult? I don't know. Some coaches have said "yes." Rich says "no." I can only relate it to my own experience running. 55-60 degrees and overcast is great for racing and training. 55-60 degrees and sunny (if you have to run in the sunshine) is not so great....

In my opinion these temps are great for racing whether it is sunny or cloudy. Next people will be debating that you will run faster at 8:00 am than 9:00 am.
The D3 girls race was fast because there were teams that ran very well and are peaking at the right time. I am excited to see the rematch next week between OL and CDM at the state meet
