A question about NIN
So i've seen the lists of qualifying times for NIN. They make it sound like you need to meet that qualifying standard to get in. Fine. makes sense.
I've also seen the results from previous years' meets. where guys are running 57 second 400's. what's the deal here? can you apply if you don't make the standard, and see if there's room for you to run?

people either lie about seed times or are just past peak when they race

they don't have the time to actually check anybodies qualifying times, so people just lie. They really don't care, you have to PAY THEM to be in the meet. I'm guessing they actually check Q times for the top heats of timed finals for the distance events. For the sprints and field events, you pay them, and if you aren't good, you won't make the finals anyway.

on the site they ask for the info and stuff from the meet so i dont think anyone really lies THAT MUCH about their times, some people just have trouble keeping up with their training after their state meets and stuff

Who the hell races the 440y any more anyway? I thought they stopped running that decades ago.

i wasn't aware that anyone runs races measured in yards anymore. 300y, 600y. although i must say, 440 is a true quarter_mile...

yeah but they tend not to check those things. you could make up any meet and nobody would know the difference because most meets don't have online results or even paper results, it's mainly used for the fast heat of races to see if the kid is legit and able to compete.
